Toasting the happy couple is a great way to close out your wedding groom speech. It involves everyone and lets you give a final wish for the couple.
Most toasts are with alcohol – remember that the toast comes at the end and don’t start early! Alcohol can easily ruin your speech if you start drinking before hand. You don’t want to embarrass your daughter – she will ALWAYS remember this day and you don’t want her to feel disappointed about something you said inadvertently.
Also, these days, families can be complicated. If you and your daughter’s mother are no longer together, you need to be classy about how you talk about it. You want this day to be wonderful for your daughter, so be grateful to everybody who helped your daughter get to this point in her life.
